Dr. S. Sasikumar is an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, with research expertise in porous metals, composite materials, additive manufacturing, and advanced manufacturing processes. His work focuses on metal casting, powder metallurgy, and the development of high-performance composite and cellular materials.

He currently serves as the Lab Head for the Foundry and Moulding Laboratory and as Placement Coordinator for B.Tech Mechanical Engineering. He actively engages in interdisciplinary research, collaborates with industry partners, and has published more than eleven research articles in peer-reviewed journals and holds three Indian patents.

He is committed to delivering impactful teaching, guiding student research, and fostering innovation in materials engineering. He is also a Life Member of the Indian Institute of Metals and an Individual Member of the Institute of Indian Foundrymen, along with memberships in ASM International, AIST, and the American Ceramic Society.
